The Powerspex Team

In 1996 Powerspex started with four ambitious young men formerly members of the project team of Stork Boilers-Deutsche Babcock. They brought with them 15 years of experience in complex energy systems, measuring and process control systems. This team was well known in the industry and they were responsible for the successful realization of mega projects, such as the waste incinerator installations ARN and AVI Twence of Stork Boilers. In the past 12 years Powerspex had had a stable growth, our team of specialists now consists of 30 basic and process engineers specializing in electrical and software engineering. Powerspex has four managers and is facilitated by a small administrative department all based in our new headquarters in Hengelo, The Netherlands.

Succesfull strategy: Implementing customers' requirements based on experience!

The basic successful strategy of Powerspex is still the same: Delivery to our customers multidisciplinary automation solutions in a flexible way following the latest technical, safety and environmental regulations. Powerspex listens and understands their customers and combines their wishes/requirements with their experience of processes and knowledge of regulations. Our know-how of (energy ) processes; instrumentation; operating systems; engineering; assembly; and specialized to modify and continuous production plants into operation in time, carefully prepared and planned! Obviously these areas require huge investments in staff education, development, training as well as the purchase of development software. Powerspex believes in investing in the knowledge of its employees and also in development with the newest state of the art technology.

Focus on multidisciplinary projects for energy systems and process control

Powerspex focus is on multidisciplinary projects in direct (energy) production processes. Examples are projects using a central en local control unit (PLC or DCS) with remote control and monitoring/ maintenance system (by telemetry) DCS, PLC or PC based with SCADA.

The base knowledge of Powerspex covers a broad range: multidisciplinary energy processing, power stations, combined heating and power stations as well as waste incineration plants. We also deal with smaller installations such as cylindrical boilers, requiring special safety precautions for devices under pressure (steam engineering) operating with fail-safe (burner) controls. Powerspex provide highly reliable and cost-effective control units with remote control by internet and standard PC platforms. Even in early project phase, we are able to start with simulation of the complete actual process. This provides invaluable timesaving in total project engineering., construction , commissioning, testing and even in maintenance (fast error analysis). This unique efficient engineering of our new projects was developed through our own practical project experience the modernizing existing energy systems.

Consultancy, feasibility studies and project management

Customers approach Powerspex when knowledge and experience is required for projects of integration and implementation of new control units in existing (energy-/process) control systems. We are particularly involved in multidisciplinary projects, from engineering work right through to putting systems into operation. We do consultancy to analyze and define specifications and conditions for new installations or modifications. Powerspex also provides feasibility studies to map installations and advise on the feasibility of optimizing, redeveloping and/or computerizing installations .
